Event Calendar

Dear Challenge Day supporters:

This year our county is taking a breather from Challenge Day. The events are funded and arranged by volunteers in our community, and this year we simply didn't have the opportunity to make it happen.

Challenge Day really is a wonderful program. We've had around 3,500 young people participate in Alachua County over the past several years, and it is life-changing for many of the youth (& volunteers). But the costs are high (around $75,000 for the whole county each year), and it takes a great deal of volunteer time to raise the funds and organize the events.

We are hoping to do it next year, in 2010-11! If you are interested in making that happen, either as a financial sponsor or as an organizer or fund-raising volunteer, please send an email to alachua @ alachuacircle.org with "Challenge Day" in the Subject field.
